Target group: Agricultural machinery industry
Language: German / English
DLG Markets and VDMA Agricultural Machinery are organising this event on the current topic of EU-Mercosur with high-calibre participants. The event will highlight the political, economic and technological opportunities of the agreement for medium-sized companies and the agricultural industry as well as farmers on both sides of the Atlantic. It is intended to provide a platform for dialogue between industry and practice as well as to highlight the specific consequences for the German and European agricultural technology industry.
The agreement between the EU and the Mercosur states will create the largest free trade zone in the world - affecting more than 700 million people. The EU is essentially pursuing an economic and a geostrategic goal with the free trade agreement. On the one hand, it is about benefits for domestic industry, with European companies selling their products more cheaply in the Mercosur countries or benefiting from imports from the South American countries. On the other hand, it is about becoming less dependent on China and the USA and establishing better trade links with other regions of the world.
